Cancellations

Cancellations (and ground transfers) are broadcast on Saturday morning on Newstalk ZB (1035 AM) on the half-hour from 7:00 onwards. Listen carefully for Wellington Junior Soccer.

Games are generally cancelled when the Wellington City Council close the grounds to protect the playing surface from further damage. Sometimes if there has been a period of extreme weather with more forecast, Capital Soccer may make an early decision (on Friday) to cancel - in this case we try to let our members know by an email broadcast.  

During extreme weather conditions it would pay to check your email on Friday evening and also check the Capital Soccer website for cancellation notices.

Nursery Grade Cancellations

Even if games were cancelled on Saturday, the weather may be OK on Sunday. The Club Nursery Grade coordinator will decide if playing conditions are acceptable - listen to Newstalk ZB 1035 AM on the half hour from 9:00 onwards for our Nursery Grade cancellation.

Ground Closures during the week

Check with the Wellington City Council on 801-4134 for ground closures during the week. If the grounds are closed then we do not practice on them. In addition if council controlled grounds are closed then school grounds are also closed - please respect our relationship with our schools and do not use school grounds if the council grounds are closed.
