Onslow Junior Football
Club 2008 Newsletter #4
Our new online enrolment system has been a
resounding success and has eliminated the manual task of processing hundreds of
paper enrolments (and hundreds of checks). We're proud to be the first
junior club in Wellington offering a comprehensive Web-based online enrolment
system.
We even had one enrolment from a family
in Onslow County, North Carolina - one of the dangers of an uninformed
Google search.

Online enrolments are now
closed
Our online enrolment system is now closed
for new enrolments. If you haven't enrolled and want to play football this
year then you will need to contact Greg, our registration secretary (email registration@onslow.org.nz). Late enrolments will go on a waiting
list unless there is a suitable team that requires additional
players.
The link to the ClubHub system is still
available on our website if you need to logon and correct any details
(eg email address) or to make registration payments.
What happens now
?
Some grades (beginning with grade 9) have
started or are about to start running trials for the selection of players for
streamed teams. Once the trials are completed, our grade coordinators will be
using the enrolment information you have provided to put players into teams, and
to appoint team managers and coaches. The grade coordinator
will provide the contact details of the team members to the team
manager who is then responsible for distributing out to the rest of the
team (this is usually done by email). The team manager and coach
will organise a time and venue for practice.
Please be patient and give your grade
coordinator time to complete this task. If you need to talk to your grade
coordinator their contact details are available on our
website.
How can I help
?
Please volunteer to be a team manager - this
is a huge help for our grade coordinators. This is an administration role
and you don't need to know anything about football to manage your child's
team.
Outstanding
payments
There are a number of enrolments where we have not
received the registration payment. Please logon to ClubHub and make a credit
card payment for any outstanding amount. Registrations are incomplete until all
fees have been paid. We prefer that payments are made using the secure credit
card payment system in ClubHub.
New grade 7
coordinator
The club welcomes our new grade 7 coordinator,
Belinda Bartlett who has volunteered to look after grade 7 this year. Please
assist Belinda by saying yes to being a team manager (or coach) for your
team.
Club gear for sale at Champs
Club uniform (shorts and socks) is available
through Champs Sports Wellington (Leftbank Cuba Street). Also football boots,
shin guards and balls.
Team
practices
Any teams organising a practice venue must do this
through Sarah our club secretary (secretary@onslow.org.nz). It is important that we maintain
a positive relationship with local schools so please do not contact
them directly.
There is a big demand for practice time at
Nairnville, particularly for the field with lights. You must book a slot with
Sarah if you intend to use Nairnville.
Second hand gear for
sale
There is a list of second hand gear for sale on the
website. If you have anything that you want to sell you can send me the
details and I will add to the list. Please send it in a format that I can easily
"cut and paste" into a text document. The club has no involvement in the sale
process.
