Parents are responsible for refereeing our games. It is recommended that someone other than the coach does this, after all they will be busy coaching!

While not everyone would feel comfortable refereeing some of the older grades it is not difficult in the younger grades. Please give it a go.

Each team will referee one half of the game, except for JPL and JPL Promo games where the home referee controls the whole game.

Online Courses for Referees in Federation 5 have Arrived!

Federation 5 Referees are delighted to announce that we are now set up to run the first section of all Club Based Referee (CBR) courses and Level 1 Referee / Futsal Referee courses online!  Two thirds of these courses are now completed online utilising ‘Silicon Coach’ a new feature being implemented via New Zealand Football.  What this means is that you can complete a major portion of the course online in the comfort of your home with the last section held in a classroom with a referee instructor. 

Upcoming Course Dates

We recently advised all clubs that there is a Club Based Referee course scheduled for Sunday 28 April commencing at 9.30am in Petone. This course will still be going ahead, and attendees who have already registered will receive advice from us as to next steps to undertake the first section of the course at home.  We have also now confirmed a Level 1 Referee course, also to be held on Sunday 28 April commencing at 12 noon in Petone.

All attendees MUST register for this course via the link below and complete the online portion of the course at least two days prior to the course date.

Note: Some clubs may offer to pay your fee for attendance at this course.  If your club has agreed to pay for your attendance, please ask your club contact who is authorised to confirm payment on behalf of the club to contact me at helen@capitalfootball.org.nz at least three days prior to course commencement.  Where no arrangements have been made, payment will be required on the day.
